Solar powered e-book reader

Solar powered e-book reader

Maybe it doesn’t sound like some important concept or accomplishment, but it is. This concept will be released next year and it will offer a unique solution. The main reason, why this e-book reader is so special is its battery. It isn’t located on the back nor is it connected with the gadget. The battery is integrated into the display. The display itself is based on electronic inks. This allows you to recharge the battery while you are reading outside, or in a bright room. The company that developed this e-book reader, Bookeen, already has the technology that is needed for making this type of a display.

The company Bookeen signed a partnership with a Sun Partner. Together they will integrate the solar panels into the display and improve this technology. Those e-ink screens use a little energy, so draining it quick wouldn’t be possible. The Even better side of them that they are completely readable under direct sunlight. As you already know, ordinary screens are almost unusable during the daylight. Although, many people use tablets and smartphones to read e-books, this new gadget will change this. Many potential users will buy this gadget only because it is ‘’green.’’

Because it uses solar power, you can use it outside, as long as you want. With ordinary gadgets, you always need to pay attention to the battery levels. The situation is even worse if you know that they drain the battery very fast, so after just a few hours they are unusable. I honestly believe that this e-book reader is just the beginning, of gadgets and devices that are solar powered. There is no information about the price and other details.
